So switching from the Curve to the EVO 4g was pretty simple, and so far I am loving android. I have been reading the forums since Ive gotten my phone and have been a little timid to post some of my questions (I hope I don't get the newb bash comments) I have searched the forums to answer many of my questions but I still have a couple that I would appreciate receiving answers..

Here's some info to fill you in with what I have done so far...
When I read about free wifi tethering I quickly followed some tutorials on how to get root access.. I followed this tutorial: How to Root Your HTC Evo 4G! | HTC Evo 4G Hacks! but I believe it is the same method mentioned here: [TUTORIAL] How To Root The HTC EVO ~ Part-1 \0/ - xda-developers
Awesome! I now have root and the supersonic rooted rom 1.32.651.1

I have read that it is unsafe to do the OTA updates that sprint keeps telling me to do, so I have ignored them...
is it possible to upgrade to 1.47.651.1 by installing this rom? [ROM] OTA 1.47.651.1 Rooted - xda-developers

My second question is with the current rom I have is it possible to download other custom roms to my sd card, and install them using the method I used to install the supersonic rom ( recovery mode, wipe, flash zip[new rom inserted here]) ?

I read many posts of people switching back and forth between multiple roms and am wondering if this is how they do it, seems pretty simple I'm just needing some missing information...

My third question is for those of you who have tried the different custom roms out there (http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-4g-roms-hacks/19577-sticky-all-evo-roms-one-stop-shop.html) Which one is the most stable, best battery life, snappyand sleek interface & continues to have the free tethering which I love so very much! ( and the camera :( sorry froyo)

Thank you if you had time to read this post and I appreciate the feedback if you can help!

1. It is a ROM it's not the official.

2. Yes, just do those steps over, remember to wipe every time

3. I would say Baked Snack (in my thread)

and all ROMs allow you to tether
