I really wanted the xoom but the initial price was and still is a joke. So I decided to give the iPad 2 a try, and boy am I impressed with the overall fluidity of the Os. Most major sites like espn, CNN, vimeo all work without flash on the iPad flawlessly. The quanity and quality of apps kills android, apps like the daily, I am t pain app, netflix and even the exclusive march madness app are so sweet. I have been using the home sharing through my iTunes and boy is it a luxuary. This sudden iPad love have got me thinking if I should spring for an iphone 5 or 6 when they come out with the slighty larger screen. the only thing my evo would have over the iPhone is the widgets, navigation and the voice search functions.. But this might be simple phase cause I had an iPhone 3g and it just didn't work for me.. But anyway, anyone else thinking of jumping ship cause of the iPad 2?

Xoom is the first real Kick A** Android tablet to market. Just like a cutting edge phone, you pay to own the top end. It's price will come down as others will come to market to compete. The apps will follow.

There is nothing wrong with the iPad2. I'm not interested but, there's nothing wrong with it. The locked down system just doesn't interest me in any way, shape or form.

I'm here in Android-ville for the long haul.

I like the Xoom, but I agree the price is ridiculous. I almost bought one the other day, but will wait for the wifi version for sure.

I personally can't stand the Xoom and would never consider it top-end. I mean spec wise yes it is. However whatever Motorola did to that thing was make it run horrible and by no means is it a smooth experience.

I had an iPad 1, and have bought an iPad 2, but I am keeping my EVO. I like the ability to customize the phone, and especially the widgets that Android gets. These let me have my phone set up exactly the way I want it so my key information and functions are available on the home screen. iPhone doesn't have near that flexibility.

I love the apps and games they have in the iTunes store, and I love the battery life and good design of my iPad, and I'm going to keep my iPad. But I want different things from my phone than I want from my iPad. And the iPhone doesn't have those capabilities. So I'll stay with a foot in both camps for the foreseeable future.

Don't need a tablet yet with the Evo. Not really tempted and willing to wait until Android catches up and screams past by the Christmas buying season.

I don't need to get a tablet now that I'm an EVO owner. But if I were to get a tablet I would get the HTC Flyer. The iPhone and iPad have nothing on the EVO and the Flyer. The apps will come.

I am really looking into buying an iPad 2, but I will stick with my EVO 4G phone. I love the EVO and none of the generations of the iPhone come even close to it in any aspect of the phone...well, except for the apps, which is why I will get an iPad. Now that I rooted my EVO, it's like I just got a new phone and I'm sure it won't be too outdated until I'm ready for an upgrade.

honestly, i thought about it also. Trying to talk my self out of it, but I know once the iPhone 5 hits, i will more than likely jump ship. I may just hold on to my evo just incase, im not satisfied.

A 32gb 3g equipped iPad2 is a ridiculous price too. That is the price to compare to a xoom. Needless to say I'm looking for a sub $400 tablet. So far the usability of a tablet doesn't justify a $700 price tag.

I have the original ipad and it works just fine with my evo. I have no plans on jumping to the next iphone. Now i may eventually upgrade to the ipad2 but wont replace the evo....at least not until the next evo comes out. I've seen the leaks about the evo hd....that sounds like a better upgrade option.

I just ordered an iPad 2 mainly because my family are somewhat iOS centric. I once was too, but then I needed to make phone calls and moved from a 3GS to an EVO last year. I am intrigued with Android and the upcoming tablets. I might even buy a Xoom wifi version depending on if they are further discounted over the next few months ($600 is still too much, IMO). I have gotten so use to the EVO's screen that I can't go back to anything smaller. While I also love iOS apps and the whole UI, I feel a little more "free" from constraints with the EVO.

So I plan on playing with the iPad 2 and waiting to see what gets introduced on both Android and iOS over the next 4-5 months - when my ATT family plan contracts expire.

I will add one really nice thing about Sprint - unlimited data. I used the EVO as a hotspot on a family trip last week and we did over 4.5GBs in 5 days. That will kill me on Verizon!

Apps will come. I am leaning towards buy the iPad2. The only driving factor for me is ease of use for my whole family. If it was just me I'd be in the honeycomb in a minute taking baths with bees and loving the stings.

As it is now. My 2 year old will be best suited with the ipad as he ages as well as my non tech savy wife.

Different markets for different pocketbooks.

As far as a phone. I would not ever go back to iphone . That form factor and os works well but I would like a bit more functionality in my mobile pc...couch phone.

I have been in the same boat..

I have been all about getting a tablet. I was really looking forward to Honeycomb when it was first announced. So I was waiting for the Xoom to come out. But I didn't want to sign up for a data contract and didn't want to pay $800. So I decided to wait to see if I hear anything on a WiFi only version. Then the iPad 2 was announced... and the price was cheaper. So I jumped on it and ordered one. I'm still waiting for it. But for some reason I keep thinking about the Xoom and my love for android. So we will see.. I have already looked at the return and refund policy of the iPad 2, just in case.
