Is there any way to fix this?

I push the shutter button and the phone takes like two seconds to snap the photo, thereby missing the shot I was looking to take (which happens a lot when you have a 10 month old).

did you try tapping on the screen where you want the focus point, then taking the shot? I think if you just tap the shutter button, the camera will first focus then take the shot, which would account for the delay. However if you already have a focus point selected it should just instantly take the picture.

Also, I just tried out the camera on my phone, I didnt pre-select a focus point but my pictures are instant, maybe somethings wrong with yours? A camera settings reset might help too maybe you messed with the settings at some point.

Yah its slow I have tried everything taping the screen helps but sometimes leaves things out of focus. If you have action shots I have started using the video camera for anything that might move. The video quality is pretty good for a phone camera. If you are thinking that this phones camera will replace a high end camera you are going to be disappointed. It does take good still pictures and the video isn't bad but its a phone camera.

I changed the settings to no preview( still flashes for a moment) and I bought a class 6 card and it allows me to take pretty fast follow-up shots..fwiw

The camera is definitely slowed down by low light and motion. I can take some really quick series outside in the sun, but inside if my kids are moving too fast the shots are slow and then blurry to boot. This is the one thing I miss about my ZN5.

Great Forum!
I am new EVO user and new to the Adroid forum, and have not found the correct settings to avoid the camera problem. Really surprised I can not get any descent pictures of anything moving (daughter 10 months) or with various lighting changes. The pictures produced are blurry/grainy or miss the shot due to the two to three second lag time on the shutter speed. : (

Anybody have any words of WISDOM? maybe an APP or settings?

Yes, I have a 5 yr old that is very quick and i always get blurry shots inside. The camera seems to be alittle slower in low light settings.

Re: Evo Camera Slo

I've had my EVO for almost a year and had instant pictures until the new software upgrade. Since then it takes 3-5 seconds to take a picture! Can't find any setting that solves the issue but the new software is clearly part of the problem.

The camera has significant lag now. That's too bad as this was one of the EVO's strong suits prior to the update. The video camera takes forever to finalize a recorded video. The audio track is out of sync by a good 15 seconds on recorded videos of about 3 minutes in length. And as I type this, cursor placement within form fields is inaccurate and will not place correctly... The cursor keps going to wherever it feels like it instead of where you place it. HTC what have you done?

Has anyone reported the camera lag bug yet to HTC?
