First off, my reference:

http://support.sprint.com/global/pdf/user_guides/htc/evo/htc_evo_ug.pdf

The Sprint HTC EVO user manual. Go to page 82.

The manual mentions in explicit terms:

Your device is equipped with a 2 GB microSDTM (Secure Digital) memory card to expand the device?s available memory space.

So, begin the rumors!

Is this:

A. A typo in the manual.
B. A result of the 8GB SD card problems Google I/O EVO owners were having.
C. A cost-cutting effort.

Maybe it was their original intention to include only a 2 gb card. Later they decided to change to 8gb and didnt change it on the manual.

Definitely a typo. It's been known for close to a month that the box itself states that it includes an 8GB card.

Maybe thats why there are so many problems, Pay for 2 Gigs, and SanDisk calls "Hey we found some 8 GB cards that we want to unload..." I'm just saying...

As the phone doesn't have internal memory a la the Inc, I am sure this is a typo and they are giving you a 16GB card
