Im planning on switching to t-mobile and i want the g2. i have the evo now. what is the least expensive way to do this? where is this the cheapest place to buy g2 on contract?

I would check Amazon or wirefly. Last I saw was for $50 with new contract. Both sprint and T-Mobile have comparable plans so I'm not sure how much you will be shaving off there and I'm guessing you are paying early termination fee. Its a great phone and you will be extremely happy with it.

You can always sell your EVO too, and depending on how much you get and if you were on contract with Sprint that might cover the ETF.

If you get the phone from a third party online retailer (wirefly) check all the fine print. They are very specific about what you can and can't do with your account for a certain period of time after the purchase.

I switched to T-Mo from Sprint and saved a lot of money each month on the family plan.

Also just doing some plan old fashioned good shopping will catch a good price. Look for good deals at your local retailers. Check the sale papers.

Was in the same boat here, dumped sprint with my Epic and Evo to pick up 2 G2's on launch day.

Of you are looking at family plans on tmobile, they just reduced the 3000 min talk, text, web plan by $30 to bring it down to $150/mo

I have a quick question: is T-Mobile good with this? I mean will T-Mobile service the phone in case of need?
I talked to the Amazon rep and was told that after the 30 day trial, they don't want to hear from you.
Although, within the purchase screens they show an option for the $5.99/month warrantee/insurance.
Also does anyone know how long is this offer for?

Thanks.:)

I'm not sure how T-Mobile handles this. Maybe give them a call and ask what they do. Some carriers handle manufacturer warranties while others don't.

If you don't mind me asking, why in the world would you want to drop the evi for the G2?

I did. T-Mo is cheaper for me. Coverage is just as good as Sprint in my area (HSPA+ is coming soon, but NOT wimax). The G2 is technically better spec'd than the EVO (next gen Snapdragon with Adreno 205) and the OC'ing capabilities put it ahead.

The big thing for most people is the coverage, but for me it's not an issue.

That being said the EVO is still an awesome phone and anyone that has one should know that. (I never used the front facing camera, otherwise I woulda got the MT4G)
