Can someone please help me and be as detailed as possible?

I have a Two Rooted EVO's (Unrevoked 3.21) (Running Baked Snack 1.8).

My question is: #1 Can I install Unrevoked Forever while my phone is in its current state? I do not want to lose anything or reflash a custom ROM.

Is it possible to apply UR Forever on top of the root access that I have now and once finished everything looks and acts the same as it does now?
If I can are there exact directions or is it one click? I don't care for following You Tube videos and most written directions seem to assume thing (Assumes People know certain steps) so the author or person shooting the video sometimes skip steps.

I think its safe to never assume anything. If someone has detailed steps of what I need to do I would appreciate it.

#2 Do I currently have NAND unlocked since I rooted with the method above?

#3 Should I apply the updates for 4G and Radio I have been hearing about? Will those mess up the current state of my phone. (By current state I mean "Once finished and I look at my phone will there be any lost Apps, Data or noticeable difference other than an update for 4G/?Radio", which shouldn't be noticeable under normal usage)

#4 How do I install a ROM from SD? Im sure this is in the 100,000 Forums on here and I can search those if needed. Im at work, trying to make the most of my time. I know many of you have this stuff down, so I figure it wont take much effort to get answers.

I thank you for your Help in Advance.

#5 I am also confused with "Booting into Recovery" I understand a Recovery Partition but I don't understand what this does and what will happen if I (#6) select (apply update.zip). What will that do exactly?

>>> with clockworkmod recovery you can select zip from sd card to flash/install

How did you end up with Baked Snack and not know how to boot into recovery? For that matter how did you root with unrevoked and not know how to boot into recovery?

I recommend reading all the stickies in this section and then head on over to XDA-Developers and read those threads. I think it will help you get a better understanding of what you're doing.

What do you mean how did I end up with Baked Snack? Its not like its difficult to figure it out. The question about recovery wasnt about how to get to recovery. The questions was more of a "What is recovery and exactly how/why does it work in reference to Android"

I was thinking Unrevoked For Life was a root method that couldnt be taken away from me with OTA updates. I am assuming (Now according to the answers) UR 3.21 and UR Forever are very similar?

Thank you to all for the helpful answers I received. My questions were intended to give me a better understanding of the processes behind gaining SU and the Recovery process as it relates to ClockWork. Thanks!

Im a Telecom Manager and a circuit(P2P,ISDN PRI, BRI, T1 and MPLS) engineer, not a developer. SOrry if I offended with my newbie questions. I have plenty more I need answered. I just want to understand the process. I will take the advice of reading more.

If you're Rooted why would you want to do that?
Cause I figured UR for life meant that root couldnt be taken from me with OTA.

UR 3.21 looks like a root method that will be overwritten if I take an OTA.

The name UR for Life is misleading if that isnt the case. Lol

That means you also can't return to stock if you need to send your phone in for any reason. I do believe there is a way to do, but idk how easy it is.

If you're Root you shouldn't be doing OTA's anyway so why would you lose Root...

From what I understand... unrevoked 3.21 is the current method unrevoked uses for its followers to root their phone. There is no source code for it so other developers can't understand their "1 click" method. typically users should use the adb to begin root.

Unrevoked forever is supposed to prevent your phone from ever being unrooted. So once you root with it, youre done.

Booting into recovery - allows you to flash anything. ROMs, kernels, radios, WiMax updates, PRLs, themes, etc

Do you have NAND? - when you boot into the boot loader or recovery, do you see an option for nandroid?

Yes you should flash the WiMax update. It increases the range you can pick up 4G. For example... i live 50 miles from Washington DC, but I can get 4g in my apartment.

Yes you should flash radio updates. if you have worse signal, flash the old radio.

booting into recovery allows you to perform a full system backup. perform a full system restore. explore the SD card, etc.

To flash a ROM, you need to boot into recovery. Perform a nandroid back up. (scroll down to nandroid, select. then select backup) at the main menu, wipe cache partition. go into advanced. wipe dalvik cache. at main menu, wipe all data. boot back into recovery, go to "install from SD card" select your ROM.

thats the basic jist...

Please help me replace my stolen iPod.

p.s.
shouldn't have used unrevoked.
