EVO vs. MiFI ?

I used to use my Pre as a hotspot for 3g.
It was reliable. As long as you are in fairly good coverage, the speeds aren't bad at all.

Web surfing is doable on 3g, just make sure you have a lot of tabs open, haha.
And with the Evo, there's no cap at all to data. So tethering is a very viable solution.

One issue is that the Evo doesn't appear to support the use of PPTP VPNs from clients using it as a hotspot.

Not an issue unless you need that functionality... and if you do it sucks.

Also, if you don't have 4G coverage then obviously you can't use it and talk on the phone at the same time.

Same for IPSEC VPN. =/

My Pre allowed for IPSEC tunneling though.
