Hey guys, been away from the forums here for a while, but I've been having a problem the last few days. My EVO doesn't charge the battery when it's plugged in. The orange LED comes on and the battery meter indicates charging, but the percentage keeps going down. Woke up the last two mornings to a dead battery even though itvwas plugged in all night. I'm pretty sure the problem is with my phone because the chargers I have do charge other phones, and I have tried several different chargers on mine. Luckily I do have several spare batteries and 2 external chargers so I am able to keep it powered for now.

This is a launch day EVO that I have had rooted and been running custom ROMs on for most of its life and it has been problem free up until now. I am kind of doubting that this problem is ROM related because I have been running this ROM for a couple months without any problems until now.

Any ideas what might be causing this or how I might fix it? Or is it just time for a new phone?

If it's time for a new phone, do I use insurance and pay the $100 for a new (refurbed) EVO, or do I go for an upgrade since I do have one available?

If you have an upgrade try and hold out till the new Evo comes out.

What's the new EVO, and when is it expected?

I've been busy with work and other stuff so I haven't been keeping up on the latest Android news.
