Evo3D SDcard slot is dead?

Hello,

Im having problem that i couldent find any topic for anywhere, every topic is about bad card and no topics about bad slot.
So my SDcard slot is dead. And funny thing is it just stoped working without me doing nothing. I was not installing nothing or anything, screen just lighted up and it was showing that SD card was removed Phone ofcourse would not show me nothing in gallery, music etc.

My first thought was that SDcard died, but when i put my card in friends phone it is working perfectly well. I also tried putting his card in my Evo and same thing happened, it started to load files and imidiatly showed msg that card was removed unexpectadly.

So, as the problem was phone and not card, my first reaction was "Great, at least I didnt lost all my data on card, ill just return my phone to original ROM and send it for repair" becaose I have one year of warranty left.

But latter on I realized that i do not know a way of installing a ROM without an SDcard, and im not evan sure that is possilble,

So can annyone please help me with either fixing this card reader problem (if it is some way of software error) or helping me restore my phone to original ROM so I can send it for repear.

Im running custom ICS rom and phone is S-off and rooted.

You can run an ruu to return your phone to stock. No sd card is needed for that. If the phone is s-on you need to relock the bootloader to run the Ruu.

Get an exe version as the PG86IMG version will require running from an sd card.

The names are fairly self explanatory, but if you need help finding the right one we will need information like cdma or gsm, carrier, country.

Download the correct ruu, put the phone in fastboot usb mode and follow ruu instructions on screen. It will return the phone to the stock rom, recovery, everything. Out of the box state. It will not however remove the relocked watermark on the bootloader. Only if s-off you can get rid of that.

If you gained s-off with the wire trick it actually returns the bootloader to a locked state unless you unlock the bootloader again after s-off. Otherwise we have a flashable zip but i need to verify that it works with gsm. But with noI'm not as familiar with gsm so I'll do my best to help but I'm not sure yet which ruu is okay for you.

Can you please tell me your service provider? I am going to do a little more research in the meantime to make sure one is available for you. If not, you may need to supercid the phone (if possible) to make it compatible with all gsm versions.

Edit: can you also run a fastboot getvar all

Then copy/paste the results from command prompt. That will provide some helpful information.

Im sorry I didnt replyed earlier, I was on busniess trip out of country.

My service provider is Tele2 - Croatia, but the phone was not branded at all (no Tele2 bootscreen and such).
I will run fastboot getvar all whem I come home today afther work and copy log here.

I would first try downloading the ruu again to make sure the download is not corrupt :/

I did already, twice from two different sites. That was my first guess as well.
I also tried running as admin, running in compatibility mode, running with htc running/closed/uninstalled and I tried downloading and running the setup on two different PCs and every time the same.

Only thing that comes to my mind is that both PCs are running Win7 x64, maybe that is the problem. But I cannot see why should it be.

Wow... Just keep hitting dead ends
Windows version should be fine... It's possible that the upload is corrupt. Because the error you are getting is not a normal ruu error from a failed ruu attempt. The error itself looks like a windows error. Can you post which version of the ruu you are running? Full name if possible. Maybe we can find another source to download from.

I tried to download it from link you posted and one more ruu list i found on internet but same thing happens... :/

Damn.... If you've already tried from another source, I'm starting to get stumped. Let me think about this and I'm also going to have a buddy read this to see if he has some other ideas... This one is leaving me scratching my head :/

Okay so I talked to my buddy. He gave me a bunch of things we can troubleshoot if necessary. I can't believe I spaced this but first try running the RUU with the phone in fastboot usb mode. It might be as simple as that. If that doesn't work we can troubleshoot connectivity issues and check your mainversion and cid.

I cannot do nothing, because error from post above happens as soon as I run RUU exe file.
So nothing gets installed or anything like that, RUU just crashes immediately as I run the installer.
No matter what I do i get that same error so the problem is, in my opinion, either in RUU or the PC itself and doing whatever to the phone itself wont fix nothing.

Please correct me if Im wrong.

Man... It definitely seems like a problem with windows. Especially if you downloaded several different copies. I'm not really sure what would/could remedy the problem.

I'd tell you to use the zip version of the ruu but you have no sd slot

Is there any way you could try on another PC to see if it will work?
