Evo's You Tube app

The HQ app that the Evo has is pretty sweet. I'm about to ask a couple of Devs to port it for us. I will keep you updated.

what makes it special? how is it any different from our youtube app and choosing "watch in high quality"?

It auto detects the best available output quality and starts that upon loading the video.
Also all video is full screen by default.

Yeah but without a 4G connection how useful is it going to be?

Guessing this is your first android phone and you never ran the HQ you tube app when root.

I've noticed that the stock YouTube app will automatically download in High Quality if you're on WiFi, but defaults to Normal Quality on 3G. You can still hit the Menu button to try downloading it in HQ on 3G.
