Excessive Ads Malware? Bixby?

Hello,

Wondering why so many of these apps--with a green or teal background & a white Android icons--are everywhere!?! My A52 has a ton of them. Many are 0 Bytes. Are malware?

What's up with Bixby? Why is Bixby an app? Does anyone really need Bixby?

Are apps with white background & lime green Android icons malware?

These apps seem to come out of nowhere & you can't uninstall them. What's up with the annoying pest-like apps?

Welcome to Android Central! None of that is malware. The ones with the Android head are system apps. I believe Cinnamon and Circular are related to themes.

TalkBack is a system app for accessibility.

There have been many articles written about Bixby and its relative inferiority to other voice assistants, as well as the inability to completely remove it from Samsung devices. If you don't want Bixby, then I would recommend choosing a phone from a manufacturer that is not Samsung.

Keep in mind that Android devices typically come with at least 230 or so apps out of the box (Samsung phones clock in at over 400 apps) that are listed in the Settings>Apps menu. Most of these are system apps, and you shouldn't worry about what all of them are for unless you want to be a Google engineer. Just think -- if you use a PC, do you look through all of the system files there and wonder what all the thousands and thousands of files are for there?

Bixby you can disable those settings are voice dictation ,camera etc... Samsung has over 400 system apps
