Excessive heat?

I'm on my second Tab (screen issue with first one). This one seems to get noticeably hot on the back left right below the power/volume buttons (looking at it in landscape with the power at the top left). Never noticed this on my first tab. Curious if anyone else experiences this on their tab?

Thx.

Yes, mine had it in the same exact spot. I've seen others with similar results...

Thx for your feedback. Guess you've returned yours since you mention you 'had' this issue?

I suppose it would be expected due to how slim the device is...just never noticed this on my first Tab which I had for a week before exchanging it for a new one.

Warm, but not hot on mine. The Samsung case seems to make this condition a bit more noticeable - more difficult for heat to escape.

Still, not alarming at all.

Yes, it would seem like aluminum would transfer the heat faster than the plastic does. Regardless though, mine wasn't uncomfortably hot. Just a little warmer than the rest of the tab. I would say if it is getting noticeably warm, bordering on hot, the OP should return it or find someone else with one and compare.

Correct, I returned it. But not because of the heat, because I wanted to go back to my Transformer with the dock.

I think the heat on that one spot on the Tab 10.1 is perfectly normal. Up to you if it bothers you or not. It did me, a little... I told myself if I was going to keep the Tab 10.1 I would get a case for it because the warm spot slightly bothered me.

"Excessive" may have been too strong a word to use to describe the amount of heat eminating from the back. It is, however, warm enough where I do not want to hold the Tab where my hands rest on this spot. I find this to be a nuisance but hope some sort of case I can purchase can mask this.

Of the three I've had, only one got excessively hot. I exchanged it for other reasons, however.
