Exchange password policy bypass

Hello all, I recently switched from an incredible to a fascinate. While I love the larger screen, better battery life, etc, I'm missing the timed exchange security policy enforcement (and the ability to use a PIN instead of a password) on unlock. For HTC Sense there are a few options to bypass or change the standard Exchange security, is there a work around for the Fascinate?

(PS, I killed rooted, killed bing, and had ADW up an running in minutes after booting my phone which made it a much better experience all the way around).

So you want the policy, or you don't? I synced my phone to exchange via OWA and it required a boot-only, any-type password to be used. I LOLed and set it to my VM pin. I probably should be more conscious of it but I have never had a phone lost or stolen in 10 years of carrying one daily so what could possibly go wrong? amiright?

My exchange admin is forcing a policy on phone lock (ie as soon as the screen goes off). I simply want to either delay the lock (even with screen off), Change from a password to a pin, or bypass the policy altogether.

That's so weird because I was thinking "hey wouldnt it be more effective if it locked whenever the screen went to sleep, like the enterprise BBs" and apparently on this phone there isn't even an option to turn that on if you want it. The pattern lock thingy is the only security mechanism available for screen locking; how annoying is it that one auth type cant work for bootup and for screen unlock?

On the incredible i could set it so that the screen would go off at 1 min, but the actual Exchange pin lock wouldn't kick in until 5 or 10 minutes of inactivity. This allowed me to not have to put a password in literally every time my screen goes black, which is especially annoying since i'm playing with my new phone quite a bit today.

It sounds like there is a difference in the way direct exchange integration is implemented vs OWA exchange. I don't see any settings at all related to password enforcement or timeout, so it must be one of those features hidden from the user. Thanks, google.

Thinking about switching from a Pre, which has a patch that allows bypassing the pin lock (Exchange). This is really important to me, although not to my IT people. I realize that bypassing the Exchange security features is not kosher, but in my situation I would do it if it were available on Android. Is it?

If you're rooted, you have adjustment/bypass options. Options when you are not rooted are advertised but there are mixed results.

FRoyo will give a passcode lock screen when we get it. Not sure how to bypass anything though.
