Exchanging the TB.

Hi I was just wondering if I want to exchange my thunderbolt for a new one will there be any cost? I also order mines online, do I have to exchange it online or can I go to Verizon store? And for those of you who have already exchange for a new one, can I still keep my old sd card and my sim card? Oh and do I have to be within my 14day refund policy?

Reason I want to exchange for a new phone is my speaker is acting up, My ringer volume would be at it's highest and I can barely hear it. I thought it was my ringtones but I tried different ones and still the same, and then I noticed my sister's TB speaker is louder then mines. Please let me know how I can exchange it for a different one. Thanks.

If you ordered it from Verizon online then you should be able to take it in to the store. You'll have to prove that it's really a hardware issue, but if you can I don't see why they wouldn't replace your phone free of charge.

Do it as soon as possible to avoid complications! Bring your receipt and everything that came in the box. New technology isn't perfect but you CAN get what you want if you ask!

You may have to pay a $35 restocking fee.

SIM card is yours. Its linked to your account info and phone #.
they might let you swap the SD cards.

if its a hardware defect its covered under a 1 year manufacturer Warranty.
you MIGHT have to pay $35.00 restocking free as stated.

When I exchanged mine, we ran into a ton of issues because the rep tried to keep the old SIM card and it ended up taking 4 and 1/2 hours on the one transaction. That being said, whatever you do, make sure you get a NEW SIM CARD!!!

Thanks you guys, I just called C.S yesterday and told them about my problem, after 30 minutes with the Verizon rep, she transferred me to a tech guy, and he's sending me a replacement phone which shall arrive thursday, so I'll see how the new phone's volume is compare to mines. He didn't mention a $35 stocking fee, so I hope I don't get charge.

if its warrenty issue with the device there is no restocking fee, restocking fee only applies if you return the device within the 14day grace for a different device.

You may also just have the main phone volume not set to max.

To check this:

1) From the home screen, press the "Menu" button (Second from the left)

2) Select "Settings" to go to the settings menu.

3) Choose the "Sound" setting.

4) Select the "Volume" option to open your volume dialog.

You might notice that the system volume is not set to 100%. This is global, and affects all other sounds in the system, including the ringtone volume. I also recommend checking the "Use incoming call volume for notifications" box so that your text messages and e-mails use the same volume for notifications.

If my suggestions above don't help, hopefully your replacement does! Good luck!

There no restock fee for exchanges for the same device, you can keep your sd card just switch it with the new one. You shouldn't need a new sim card if youre switching just the phone but there have been reports of problems with activation. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Yes I did check all my setting and they were all set to the max, so hopefully the new phone is better, if not I guess I will just have to deal with it because I do love the thunderbolt.
