I have an extra S-pen and it would be nice if I could execute the air command without removing the original pen from the phone. Couldn't find a thread on this topic.
Thx.

I'm a bit confused: assuming you have an S pen that is compatible with the Note 5 why would you have any problem using the air command feature.

The trick is that many styli aren't compatible with the N5 including my Galaxy Pro tablet (2014) and N4 S pen.

Plenty of compatible styli available via Amazon but beware of some outrageous prices that add nothing to the product. I got several at Best Buy that looked like normal 2 piece pens for between 15 and 20 $$. Worked great and simply attached to a suit jacket pocket. No erasure function, however.

Sorry for not being clear. The S-Pen is from an older note which seems not to be compatible.

Would like to keep the Note 5 s-pen docked in the phone when using the other pen.. Seems like the air command only executes when I withdraw the Note 5 s-pen from the phone. I want to know if there a way around this.

Hold there s-pen close to the screen and then push the button on the s-pen. If it's compatible air command should pop up.

Did try to use the old S-Pen when the original Note 5 S Pen is docked into the phone. Click on the old s-pen but no air command. Should say the old S-Pen fully works on th Note 5 screen which includes using the clicker when I unlocked the Note 5 s-pen from the phone.

I was spectacularly wrong. All my styli work included by tab pro (2014) and Note 4 PROVIDED I remove the Note 5 stylus first.

Why? Because of convenience to keep the Note 5 s-pen docked while I use the spare one. And this lessens the chance of losing the Note 5 s-pen when using the spare one and it reduces wear and tear on the entire note 5 s-pen docking system.

I'm using a note 4 and I can bring up the air command with an old note 3 s pen. Here's how I did it
Go to settings
S pen
Un check s pen power saver. This worked for me
