EXIF data info please

The date of Photos moved to phone from emails. From PC, etc
Is always changed to the date of the move/save.
Is this inevitable? Any way to preserve original exif date /Data?

You said it yourself, you're looking at Date Modified (or Moved/Saved). This will always change to the date you move stuff around; the same thing happens while moving files in a PC.

What you want to see is the Date Created field. Now, I'm not sure if you can select this field on the Gallery though. You can certainly browse each picture and get the correct EXIF data, but as to the date it displays on your Gallery, this might be hardcoded to "Date Modified".

I know this is an old thread, but this drives me crazy too... anybody replaced the default Samsung "Gallery App" with one that retains original exif data?

I spent this morning uploading photos from a chronological backup which worked wonders...

But I really would like a replacement for the "Gallery"...
