Is there a list somewhere of cards that have been used successfully with the OV?
successful = decent transfer speeds, no data corruption, always recognized by phone/computer

I always hear "stay away from the off-brands". But there are so many brands-- is everything that's not "Kingston" or "SanDisk" consider off-brands?

you should be fine as long as your not buying some shady one from a ebay seller based in china or something.

if you get it in a store you're probably getting one that will last you. if your really worried about it, get a name brand and be done with it.

I'm still using my 4GB sandisk card that i bought years ago. its been in 4 phones. gets formatted once a month and is usually 90% filled up at all times.

still works fine. I'll probably replace it for a 16GB soon, but its never been a problem after all these years. ive never seen anyone use SD cards and flash drives the way I do. out of everyone I know, im the one who still has my original flash drives and SD cards years after I bought them. most people lose or replace flash drives and SD cards right away. they last longer than most give them credit for

I'm looking to get a 16gb card too. Buy.com has a sandisk class 2 for $20. I've been using a class 4 sandisk 6gb for years now with no issue but I hear bad things about lower classes even though I don't run apps from SD so I dont think I'll have an issue. Hopefully someday android can run android from SD, that could be cool.

I was confused about the speed and didn't know how much it affects performance, so I bought a class 6 to be safe (16gb). Check out newegg, that's where I got mine. I based my purchase on the many product reviews.

I too have a class 2 16gb sandisk card in my optimus v and it works great!
