I've read and heard about "launchers" but never have installed anything. Just always used out of the box. And always had Samsung with its touchwiz until now too. .

I noticed today when I checked battery usage I had a entry using a % for Launcher3. I've never seen that before. How do you know if your phone is using something different or is this the standard for turbo?

What do they do? Nova for example...

re:

A launcher is the app that shows the home screen - what shows up when you press the home key. Some do more than others. Launcher 3 is the default launcher for the Turbo, yes.

Go to the Play Store and look at any launchers you are interested in - they all have a video that explains some of the features.

re:

Launcher 3 is the default on that device. Launchers are a homescreen replacement app. This means that they can change the look and functionality of your home screen(s) and/or app drawer. For example they may allow you to change icons or use icon packs, change the grid on which you can place apps, folders and widgets, change the layout of the dock area, etc.
