Hello,

I just recently acquired an HTC inspire jumping from a ghetto phone. I'm trying to back up my contact info on gmail and I can't figure out how to do it. I see that some of my contacts have been added to my gmail account, but for some reason I can't get the rest to do it as well.

I've looked through several websites as well as similar threads on this website. What I understand is that the contacts need to be in "google mode". But how do I determine if they are already google contacts or not? When I click on my contacts and checked what they're linked to, the majority of them show phone, facebook, facebook for HTC sense, AND google. Does that "linked to google" confirm that they are google contacts?

Also, I have about 15 contacts that show up in my gmail account, but not the rest.

Thanks for any help!!

Take the time and add them to your Google account. Add all the numbers, email addresses, and physical addresses; as long as you stay with Android, then youll never have to do it again. It might be time consuming, but you will be happy once its done. I know whenever I add someone to my contacts via Google its almost instantaneous that they show up in my contacts in my phone. It is definitely well worth the initial trouble. :)
