Exposure filter not saving properly on HTC One X

So, this is a minor issue, but I find it weird, so I thought I'd ask if anyone else has experienced the same problem, or if I'm doing something wrong or what!

Basically, when I use the built-in exposure filter to adjust exposure on a photo, it looks good when I'm previewing it, but then after the photo is saved, the colors are all washed out.

Here's what I'm doing:

1. Take photo
2. Tap the "Edit" link
3. Choose "Effects"
4. With "No effects" selected, tap the Edit icon
5. Tap the Add Filter icon
6. Choose Exposure
7. Adjust the exposure
8. Tap "Done"
9. Tap Save
10. When asked if I want to save the unsaved custom preset, I tap cancel

Now when I look at the newly saved picture, there is less color depth than there was in the preview that was shown while I was adjusting the exposure. Everything is greyish. I can attach sample pictures if anyone is interested!
