So, when Verizon and Seidio release their extended batteries, and those of you who will be going for the bulkier battery, which one are you going to get? The Verizon 2150mAh, or the 3500mAh from Seidio?

I'm weird with aesthetics, although I hate being so, and I like how the Verizon one will be red like the rest of the phone... But 3500 for only $10 more than the 2150... I wouldn't have to monitor my useage hardly ever... I'm torn...

Also, for those who have used Seidio in the past... Do they usually release a phone case that will be compatible with an extended battery, or am I going to have to go with a Universal case of some sort?

I'm fine with the 1750mAh extended battery from Seidio which doesn't need a new back. Working fine for me.

When they release the larger batteries, they include a back cover that works with the phone. They need to be customized for each phone type which is most likely one of the reasons for a delay in getting them to the market. The most likely use the same batteries they did for other devices, but didn't have access to DI to prefab the back covers yet.

Yeah, I know the back will come with it, but I didn't know if they would release a case to accomodate the extra bulk.

I've read all the other threads on the 1750, but how much extra "playtime" do you yourself get on the phone with that battery over the stock, and what kind of useage do you put it through? Heavy, moderate, etc...

Moderate user with a lot of email. Not much phone call usage but I do use BT for headset both to and from work and occasionally at work. Some occasional Wifi Access at home.

The difference was that I used to have to plug in sometime around 4pm so that I had enough to get home. Now I don't have to plug in until bed time typically 11:30pm - 1am making it basically a full day charge for me now.

Good enough for me since I have access to plug in many times during the day if I really needed to.

I guess having the extra battery is also a plus... Also I'm going to save the $20 or so by not having to buy a new case to accomodate the larger battery... Thanks for the input!

Based on recent tests they will last about the same. Seidio is just more bulk. Go OEM extended

The voice of reason (my wife) has interjected... Looks like I'll be joining the 1750 crowd... It's odd how they can do that so easily...

She actually raised several valid points... But she's a tech junkie now and is getting sick of seeing me on this phone while she plays with her BB Tour... LOL... So some of it may have been dismissive...

I'm waiting for the big battery from Seidio; although, I will listen to some comments from anyone who buys the VZW option before I buy.

The Seidio option is described as adding only 3-4 mm to the dimensions of the phone. And, as someone that loves streaming music and freedom from worry, I will be happy to do whatever I want, as long as I want, wherever I am. After all, that's what a mobile device is supposed to be.
