Extended Battery concerns

Having some concerns with my extended battery for the d3. First off, it runs HOT, it will be warm when its just sitting on my desk or something, but when its in my pocket it heats up like crazy.

My main concern, though, is the battery life with the extended battery. I know the battery life issues of the d3 have been gone over time and time again, but im a little concerned with the life im getting out of my it. on an average day, i can maybe get 6-7 hours out of normal usage till i have to charge it again. I know the update is on its way that will improve battery life, but could it be possible that I have a defective phone thats eating through the battery?

No gps, wifi, or bluetooth running, have good coverage all day

I had the same thing going on on the first two days with my extended battery. Turns out facebook was running constantly, updating the wall in the background.

You should check your task manager under settings and auto-end anything you don't need to stay on. I actually put advanced app killer on and it constantly kills the bloatware from vzw.
