My wife just got her extended battery does she have to do anything to condition the battery? I saw people calibrate their phone but our phones are not rooted is there anything we have to do to optimize the new battery?
No. The batteries that come in smart phones today don't really require any special conditioning like previous years. It actually can be worse on the battery to fully drain it as it shortens the life of the battery. Just top it off and keep it fully charged when u can or you get the low battery notification
I'm no expert on this, but I've seen numerous posts where people are suggesting you charge it overnight, then drain the battery to the point of the point it shuts off once as a way to calibrate the phone meter. I'd see if the instructions for the battery say anything about it, or check with Motorola.
My battery indicator showed up to 80% usage in 12 -14 hours with minimal usage with my new extended battery, until I did what mooncatt recommended above. After doing it twice, the indicator only shows 20 -25% usage in a day, sometimes 30% with heavy usage.
This doesn't "condition" your battery, just re-calibrates the meter.
