Extended battery

Just an odd shape and no case to fit.
Someone on XDA actually cut out a square in Ringke case so it would fit.

Yup, I did that yesterday. It is an odd shape but it's not out of the ordinary. This is how the extended batteries have been for android for awhile. My boss just got the zerolemon and we are doing our cycles simultaneously and I'm able to compare weight and size. True you get 2600mah more with the zerlomon battery though.

How did the case mod go?

I'm in the middle of my second charge on my Hyperion 6400 mAh battery. Usage today, I did what I usually do, except plug my phone in during navigation and I got 24 hours of life, 5 hours of screen and was at 45 percent. The instructions says to charge nightly despite readings to train the battery. But this thing is a beast without adding much extra bulk.

That thing sounds like a beast lol...
How is it in your hand? Is it cumbersome or is it workable? I'm on the fence about getting the Hyperion, something similar or LG's extra battery/charger combo.

To be honest, it's much easier to grab and hold. Not as slippery. I love the slim form factor of the original, but with the battery it's slightly larger than the Ringke Onyx.

Hyperion told me they are releasing a TPU case in the next month.
I've been hearing something to that effect. I might go with the Perfine unit because I want both colors and maybe that case will fit. Then again if its cased the color won't matter.

What color is you phone and does the hyperion back match?

I have the black ones. The back looks like a matte black case. I'll be getting a white case for it. I have too much black (nearly all my electronics) haha

Yeah I forgot to mention that I was using hotspot on my phone for a good chunk of the time. I'm impressed

Has anyone ordered/tried the Mugen 9300 mah battery? It is thinner than zero lemon. I have the 6000 mah on my lg g3 (now with wife). Was very sleek compared to zerolemon

Tempting but very expensive and no case protection. Also has NFC which is great if you need it. The shameful part of the models like Hyperion is that it is easy to add NFC if you can buy the stick on antenna. The inside of the back even has the layout of where it belongs... Probably because that took an impression of it.

I might depending on the texture of the back cover. Don't need a case if it won't slip out of my hand. The rounded back should hopefully mean it's still comfortable to use and NFC will be a nice perk.

I wrote them to ask if it's metal or plastic.

I wrote them, too, but they weren't specific. Metal and plastic both of a tendency to be slick, though. I followed up asking if it would be possible for me to just get the back cover to try out and they told me to follow up next week.

They wrote back to me that it's plastic. By itself plastic is not a bad thing but I'm concerned about the anchor points wearing out by taking it on and off or breaking from a drop.

Wouldn't you know it... I jinxed myself. One of the clips on my Perfine extended battery is broken... It's a middle so it still holds in place but rather delicate. I think it may have happened from a light drop.
