I'm a usage hog. On iphone or android I'm dead by 10am-noon. So one huge perk with Android is having fully charged batteries ready to go. So since I jumped to android 3 phones ago I've always bought the extras. So yes for my S3 I have 2 of the battery/cradle combo kits made by Samsung. I start every day with 3 full batteries and never have to worry about charger cords.

I will say when I'm not working which is where my hog usage comes from, I can get 22-26 hours on a single full S3 battery.

I just got a second battery since I seem to be constantly using the phone. Now, I don't worry about the battery lasting all day - and I don't need to run the battery until it dies.

Just curious as to how viable the "removable battery" perk really is. It seems, not very.

If you travel a lot, it's a great perk. You don't have to roam the airport looking for an available power outlet. You don't have to worry about killing the battery on long flights or train rides. And if you're hanging out in the country with poor 3G/4G service, you don't have to worry about the phone draining the battery by constantly looking for service. If it runs low, just swap it out with a fresh one and go about your business.

It's also nice if the battery goes bad...you can swap it out yourself instead of bringing it somewhere to get it repaired.

And it's also nice if your phone crashes to the point where the only way to reboot it is via battery pull. I guess this isn't so much of a problem these days, but Captivate owners know all too well how important it is to be able to pull the battery.
