Face recognition and other problems

Hello, I need your wisdom here. When I got my Note 8, I have registered my face as a security measure but had some difficulties with it, so I switched to the iris recognition and a pin. It worked reasonably OK. When it would not recognize my irises, it would ask for a pin and it was fine. Later I decided that it would be faster to use a pattern instead of a pin. It was a tragic mistake. This morning it asked me for a pattern even though the phone was set to not lock when I am at home by recognizing my location. Unfortunately, I forgot the pattern as haven't used it enough to remember it and I could not unlock the phone. After couple of hours of trying, I contacted the Samsung chat line and the guy helped me to unlock it through the Samsung Find on the net that allowed me to unlock with a Samsung password. I was very happy that I could use my phone again. However, when I went to set up the security pin, it would not allow me to go passed the Screen Lock Type and running the face recognition because it was still registered in settings. It does not work. I get the message "The face cannot be found". I tried many times at different distances, angles, light, no help. It asks for a password that backs up the face recognition and none of my passwords work. Went back to Samsung chat line and the guy tells me that the only way out of this situation is a factory reset. I have two choices, either use the phone without any security lock or perform a factory reset. I hate to do the factory reset. Can anybody help me to resolve this without factory reset? Thank you in advance.

Just solved the problem. I installed Super Speed Cleaner from the Play Store. Run it and it cleaned the corrupted file that was causing the problem. What a relief. I am so glad I did not rush to do the factory reset.

Glad you found the answer!
