This method isnt 100% but: pull the sim and use it to call a phone with caller id. Take the name and run it through Facebook. Based on location it should be a small list. Profile pictures are public on facebook so if you have a good enough pic set for a profile pic it could possibly be used to unlock the phone.

All in theory but seems easier then trying to bypass the fingerprint scanner on my atrix

when you call anyone, your name shows up on caller ID, you have ATT, it is standard!

VZW does not do this. i think you might be able to pay extra for it to. not sure

It boils down to keeping an honest person honest. Face unlock will do just that. Just like a lock on a door will keep an honest person from entering your home. If someone wants in your house, they will get in. If you're worried take extra precautions. End of story.

This is a phone they where showing at launch, since it has taken a few weeks between launch and release who is the say that the software was 100% ready? Also in the video he sates "I set up the face unlock with this picture". In the article part it says the guy set it up with his face, but I will take what the guy says in the video then what is in writing.

I think we need to wait and see until the final version comes out and we can test it ourselves.

I remember having seen a spec breakdown of the Nexus that listed actual hardware designed to recognize particular facial features, for use with the Face Unlock of ICS. I think he used a Galaxy Note (not 100% on that, TBH) to take the picture used in unlocking the phone. Considering both devices were made by Samsung, and the Note will most likely end up with ICS, is it plausible that the Note has the same hardware features in it for preparation of upgrade to ICS? If that's the case, perhaps the phone does more than just "take a snapshot" of a face, but utilizes depth perception and Lord knows what else to detect particular facial features.
