There are three kinds of people who lock the phone....
Those who are hiding, or trying to hide things - works just fine unless your hiding it from family or spouse
Those who do it for a little security against theft - if a thief has your picture he's trying to kill you, not steal your phone
Those who are required for work and access to exchange servers at work - not even those trace codes are sufficient, face unlock will certainly not be
Its a fun gimmick Google gave us. But think about the long term uses. The API for it will allow things like gestures for changing music like kinect for xbox. Google has a great new toy apple doesn't own, and this is the easiest way to show off the new API... I can't wait for further application of it in the near future.
