Face Unlock Animation

I have noticed that the white light that circled the front camera hole when face unlock was active is now dark and almost invisible. I haven't been able to find a setting to change it. Does anyone here know?

What color is your lockscreen wallpaper?

It's a video wallpaper. Black then purple lightning flashes. It's the same one I've been using when the animation was visible.

Did you change the animation scale in developer settings?

I did when I first got the phone. I always change it to .5x.

And as suddenly as it stopped working, it has started working again. Strange.
