May I ask, why do you need an app, to do something you can do in the browser? Just open Chrome, or whichever browser you prefer, log in and off you go.

Chrome auto converts it to a mobile view, and you can do 97% of what you can do on the computer. No extra step, no additional app, no battery drain etc. You just don't get the push notifications, but open Chrome and they are there for you when you want them. Easy.

Yes I do agree with you i mean I've gone back and forth between the two ideas. I just don't get the push notifications for the messenger which every now and then I use.

Update:. I just tried using Facebook messenger in the mobile site, and forgot that Facebook shut that down because they're migrating and checking everyone to use messenger unfortunately.

I use Chrome for FB on my phone but there are some quirks. You can't tag people in a post by typing in their name. Pictures are thumbnails; you have to click to enlarge them so you can zoom in/out. Notifications aren't updated; I'll sometimes have more notifications on refresh. Minor things but if they would make the app better with no battery drain issues, I'd use it.

Absolutely I feel the same exact way. I guess ill just stick with my version of 2.2 for now then. It still runs smoothly enough.

This. I don't want that app anywhere near my phone.

So again, you don't even care really care About the occasional Facebook messenger message then. I mean, I barely ever use it as it is regardless. Just wanted to hear feedback regarding it of course. . With that being said , maybe I should try the mobile site again.

I enjoy the heck out of FB and wish there, were a way to use messenger as my default messenger but it always seems like my carrier for service wants me to use there keyboard. I like the ability to use multiple kinds of emojis and gifs. In one messenger app. As far as the battery goes we need better batteries why is it being used if we are plugged in.

Actually the 6phas av amazing battery and the Facebook app has always been bloated. That's for sure.

So here's what I've noticed with Facebook I played around with the chrome shortcuts for a while and even though I had the Facebook notification settings enabled, they didn't work. I easbt getting alerted for anything. I just reinstalled the Facebook version 2.2 app version.... Total memory size is 30 mb of memory which isn't horribly bad and I get all my push notifications. Not sure why the chrome shortcut didn't work however.

I've been in the beta program for quite some time now. I haven't really noticed anything in phone performance or battery. But then again I don't really pay attention to that kind of thing thus I don't really have much to compare to.

Mmm interesting. Would you be able to show me a screens hot if just how much ram memory it takes up and battery usage, akso ,do you know how much different it is vs the regular Facebook app for Android which really does suck.
