Question Facebook Dating Notification

Just a few questions.

What phone do you have?

What have you tried, other than checking the settings?

When you go into the app do you have notifications waiting?

Have they ever worked or has it been this way from the start?

Do you get other FB notifications?

With such limited information it is difficult to say for sure but let's start with the basics and after we get your answers we can look at other things. First let's clear the app cache. Settings>Applications>Facebook>Force stop>Storage>Clear cache/Clear data. You won't lose anything clearing the cache. Clearing the data for FB will default any settings you've changed in the app and you will have to change back to your preference afterwards, but all of your FB data is stored remotely and the app is only an access point. I would also clear the data for Meta and Messenger since they are related to FB. At this point I would usually say restart the phone and test. You should still restart but you may not be able to test this since it is dependent on someone messaging you, I assume.

Since we don't know if you are receiving other FB notifications I don't know how useful it would be to clear the system partition cache but it can't hurt. Without knowing what device you have I'll offer generic instructions that work for ~90% of devices. Power off the device>while restarting hold the volume + and the power button until the splash screen appears>release the power button but continue to hold the volume + button until the phone is fully booted>use the volume buttons to navigate and highlight Clear Partition Cache and use the power button to make the selection>when complete use the Reboot option to restart the phone.

Let us know what you find and we'll go from there.

I have a S25. I used to get dating notifications but than I disabled them. Than after a week I wanted them back so reenabled them and never get them now. I only get a badge notification in facrbook. Not a popup alert.

When you say you get badge notifications do you mean that you only get badge notifications?

Are you not able to remember the steps you took to disable the notification?

If you have changed the settings back to allow notifications and you still are not getting them it could be that the app is buggy. There are 2 things I think you can try that might get you back up and running.

Since you are not able to uninstall the app, first try uninstalling the updates to Facebook. You can do this in the settings or at the Play Store page for the FB app. Settings>Apps>Facebook>Force stop>Uninstall. This will only uninstall the updates since FB is a pre-installed app that cannot be uninstalled fully without rooting the device. Uninstalling the updates shouldn't affect the app, so none of your settings should change. You might verify the notification settings afterwards just to be sure but I'm pretty confident they won't be affected.

I recommended this before, but you don't mention anything you've tried, so if you didn't then, the second thing would be to clear the app data. This should take the app back to default settings and will clear out any junk that might be causing the app to act up. Settings>Apps>Facebook>Force stop>Storage>Clear cache/Clear data. You don't have to clear the cache separately, it should clear when you clear the app data, but some users like to be extra and do both. If taking the app back to the absolute default doesn't resolve the issue this would be another clue that points to the issue being a setting or something on the phone and have nothing to do with the app.

Yes only badge notifications for dating. Every other notification works and show popup alerts.
