Facebook Messenger, I can't record video but can take pictures, help plz

I have an Android SII Galaxy. When I hit the camera button I see a window popup from the bottom of the screen. It shows me what my camera sees at the moment. There is a button on the middle bottom of the video screen that looks like an up arrow. I press it and release it sends a picture. I hold it down with the intent to record a video it doesn't do anything. As soon as I lift my finger from the up arrow it immediately takes a picture and sends it to the person im talking to.

How do I record a vid?

PS: I have tried uninstalling the app and re-installing to no avail.
