Facebook notification noise won't change

I've gone into settings on the Facebook app, and changed the default notification noise (an annoying ping) to one I prefer, but whenever I get a notification, it's still using the default noise, not the one it shows I've set. Help??

Have you tried changing it in the FB Messenger app? That's where the message sounds are. I hate that default annoying ping too.
