Facebook notifications not showing up on status bar?

Just wondering if anyone else has this issue. I have to actually open the app to see any notifications I get. Didn't have this problem on the stratosphere.

It seems that the app only shows notifications for messages, friend requests and event invites which means you won't get notifications for like comments or wall posts or the like. Not sure why it's like that, annoying.

FB is spamming w/ those notices about comments/notifications. I'm glad I'm not getting notices for those.

I put the facebook widget on one of my screens and every now and then I tap through the notifications.

I never get Android notifications for any kind of Facebook notifications.

fb is so hit or miss with the app sometimes you get notifications and sometimes you do not. I think it is just the app because I had the same thing happen when i had an iphone.

Somewhere here on Android Central a long time ago on what I think was the TBolt board someone posted a strange fix to this problem of not getting9 notifications. The fix was to find someone with a Blackberry device and log into your FB account from their phone. Apparently the association of a Blackberry onto your FB account set some permissions that fixed the push notifications across all the connected devices.

Such a weird fix but alot of people reported success. I never could verify it myself because I was one of those that never had a problem. Then again I used FB on a Blackberry from my Storm days so my account has Blackberry associations. I never had push notificafion problems on my Android devices.

FWIW my GN gets every notification every time. My FB widget also updates perfectly where my TBolt never did. Sometimes it took days for it to update on the TBolt.

The FB app seems to be very inconsistent across devices.

People were going to a cell phone store and doing it from the demos. LOL Its such a "snake oil" type fix. Cant hurt to try.

Seriously its a settings thing or the Facebook app still sucks.
