facebook notifications sometimes pop out but not all time 3.0

i don't know i uninstall and install facebook 2 times it seems sometimes i get notify stories and likes will pop out and other times don't

i'm not sure because i have floating bubbles on and maybe i need to put notifications on smart view or what

anybody who uses facebook if got floating notifications turn on its like a hit and a miss with notifications

Does it seem to happen more when the screen is off?

I ask because since the update to A11 One UI 3.0 there seem to be a lot of complaints about notifications due to apps being put to sleep. Make sure your app isn't in the sleeping apps or deep sleeping apps list. Settings>Battery and device care>Battery>Background usage limits>Sleeping apps and Deep sleeping apps.

Let us know what you find and if you're able to solve the issue.

i think it must happens when screen is off android 11 i did get notify today story i did had phone unlock few mins before lockscreen time out its not in sleep mode

i'm not sure if its due to me restart phone and when i put phone on charger or when lockdown screen time out goes off it doesn't seem to push out

it just happens in stories time to time and 1 time events/birthdays last week so again not sure if i need to uninstall and reinstall next time i power off phone and turn on i only notice don't pop out if i go to actually website see a notification refresh also likes notifications hits or a miss but these are only 3 that having issues sometimes everything else works great

i used to have issues friends stories and likes s7 think don't push out i uninstall and reinstall but not as bad this on android 11 i wonder what it will be like if i change notifications floating bubbles to smart pop up view instead if any difference i don't know

maybe jan software patch will update this issue who knows

If it seems to be happening more when the screen is off I'd be willing to bet it is due to the app being put to sleep. Check your sleeping apps and be sure it isn't in that list.

Settings>Battery and device care>Battery>Background usage limits>Sleeping apps and Deep sleeping apps

If any apps that you want to get notifications from all the time appear in either of those lists remove them and check your results.

i have check its not there it maybe due to wifi at house because i always turn off data when i turn wifi on at house

i did get a like comment when was at theater had wifi off and data on again i don't know

my wifi just like s7 phone when at home due to where i live at bars sometimes show 4 then goes 3,2 besides change 5g to 4g

i swear i think verizon tower isn't very strong giving 5g input to my phone yet when i go out of town or in town 5g is there full bars

something was odd happened today when i got notify somebody and other friends added to stories when it pop out i couldn't swipe to the right look at different stories just stay on that 1 story had to go into account look under notifications swipe look at rest

so i deleted app and install back i'm a hoping this was just an error and next time will work not sure due to android 11 or not

so i guess its a glitch or wifi issue but when i got notify today somebody i usually swipe to right but it wouldn't let me it did run and closed friend story

i don't know if different on data or issue with android 11 not sure was doing this when i got phone after i updated to android 11 on 23rd last month or not

i know when i was over at brother house christmas they didn't have wifi was on data i wonder if android 11 is causing this issue i guess if i want to see more stories i go into app and click on notifications very odd behavior

oh and this only happens when on wifi at house date is off before i did network rest few weeks ago it was happening then maybe this is also due to my wifi is not that great where i live at there are issues between 4g and 5g i don't know

i also don't know if on mobile data if i can swipe to right on some friends facebook stories when do pop out and its not working right on wifi

i have finally turn off my s7 phone other night put it up somewhere maybe issue with that phone is still on activated but i don't think that is issue

i do recall back on 31st was issue with instagram story's not able to post new stories on facebook new year's eve but that was instagram issue and 1 time kindof unlink facebook to instagram and link it back so i know that also not issue

now i really cannot confirm if this is issue in town 5g is great bars are full because last sat i got notify 1 person at theater on mobile data and when i swipe right it just said add story it wasn't like that 1 friend of mine who if swipe right it will show others

needless to say i don't know what to say or do if call or go to verizon<-which all they want to do schedule appointment nor i can't try to call walmart get ahold person who activated s20 plus phone or go over there yet because i haven't been out long enough somewhere facebook friends stories pop up and due to covid still running around i don't get out much

I don't Facebook so I'm not sure about any of the workings of it. The best I can say for the change is that the two don't seem related. Not getting notifications and having extra steps to view things in the app should be different issues.

As for the notifications... You said a while back that you were turning off mobile data when at home and running solely off of WiFi. Is this something that've been doing for a while, before this device? Why do you do this?

With the update there may have been some changes with the app, as updates can bring in app changes as well, so have you thoroughly gone through the app settings for Facebook? I'm wondering if there is a setting for, update over WiFi and/or Data, or a setting for, sync frequency, so like every 2, 4 hours or anything like that. If you let the device sit without opening FB does it ever provide notifications on its own?

i try turn off wifi awhile ago and turn on mobile i saw somebody added facebook friends story pop out and again it wouldn't let me swipe to the right it just loads and close it i really don't understand why this is going on i have never had this issue when somebody does friends story and i view usually i would swipe to right view more no problems when i was s7 granted it was on oreo which was last update

now i cannot comment if this happen when i'm in town 5g and bars are fully up well i been doing that for every phone even with s7 i turn off mobile data when get home and turn on wifi i just like to don't eat up mobile data

yes when i got s20 plus back on 22nd walmart activated when i came home i turn off mobile data connect wifi after adding home wifi

this has to be due to android 11 ui 3.0 don't you think? i try to talk to samsung this morning they don't understand what i'm saying

i wished somebody who has facebook and s20 plus device can tell me if this is doing their phone or not

i don't think its because i went into instantgram facbook account center on new phone and unlink it and relink it back on jan 1st 1:14 am facebook notify me saying set up accounts center this account aka facebook and instagram is issue

maybe it might be me resetting network settings 1 day i'm not sure

basically like the swipe to the right function is disable so to speak again not sure why but sometimes it will say this person add story and swipe to right it tells me to add a story<-that's common

maybe i need to talk to guy who did my phone walmart i think he's there tomorrow or go 1 day next week before going over to verizon

i could also go by little cell phone store but they prob won't know what i'm talking about i believe most of their phones are on android 11 btw

i'll let you know what happens tomorrow as far as friends facebook stories if they are pushed out when i go somewhere if can swipe to right when 5g is good bars are great in town and if they are doing what supposed to say then something is matter with verizon tower that is messing it up why 4g and 5g changes time to time i don't know

As for the performance of the app, that is probably just how FB works on Android 11. I don't think One UI would affect that but an update for Android 11 could change the way the app behaves.

If anything One UI might be responsible for notification issues. I don't know anyone here that has the S20 but I'm pretty sure @mustang7757 and/or @B. Diddy have FB. We'll see if either has a reply or suggestion about the app issue.

Have tried switching from bubbles? I'm not having that issue on mine , long press the Facebook icon then tap info >go to notification and make sure all toggles are enable and tap each category there to open sub menu for further adjustments

i think stories coming from updates from friends? i'm not sure what other notifications are like i said if i don't have a story sometimes when i get notify friends story after pop out i can swipe right then it saids wants to me to add a story<-that is normal after i add a story then somebody adds theirs i look and when i try to swipe right<-function disable just loads that 1 story and ends it<-this is not if i go upstairs get my s7 and used it tomorrow i bet friend story will pop out i will be able to swipe right no issues like i always been but then again that was on oreo

i cannot tell you if this was still working on 10 because i already said i never install any apps when got home dec 22nd when got s20 plus activated no all night long i did all the sorry security updates getting to android 11 5g and then that security update next day

so you want me to try to not do bubbles but smart pop up view instead?

in your end i assumed you got a s20 i got plus that whenever a friend of your added a story and it comes out when pop out you have ability to still able to swipe that story to see more friends stories<-i want that ability back

if this was working after android 11 then it must had stop working 1 day last week or prob the last week of dec not sure

i was out today 3-4 but no stories pop out, so i'm still stuck i guess next time i go out which prob be 1 day next week if i stay out long enough maybe o can see if it lets me to try to see more stories from somebody if ability to swipe right will work or not because like i said last sat at movies i did get notify but it was 1 of those 1 story then swipe right and tell me to create one

I don't know if that is still true but I do remember back in the day a lot of issues with FB and Insta causing everything from not being able to send texts to memory full notifications that were impossible to clear. I stopped using it all together because it was messing with my personal resources. My short supply of overall happiness and my limited mental health. LOL.
