Facebook turns wifi on all by itself?

When I turn my wifi off, and then open Facebook, I get a message at the bottom of the screen that says wifi was turned back on and connected. Is there an option to disable this?

go to settings>Wi-Fi>(press menu button) advanced> Auto-connect
