So Facebook is using about 70 percent of my battery. Is this normal? I don't think so. I'm including a screenshot

You have to understand that those battery statistics dont mean "You've used 70% of your battery with this app". It simply means that this since the last baseline (boot/unplug) you've spent 70% of your time with this app. One thing I can attest to with facebook, before I got Juice Defender, I noticed that it would go rogue at random times and chew up my battery so just make sure to keep an eye on it.

You could always delete the app and spend some time working on real relationships...you know...actually getting together and talking to people. Imagine all the extra battery life you'll have.

Kind of related but does anyone know how to turn off location service for Facebook?

i think if you go to the app info. you can scroll to the bottom and you should see location services. from there you should be able to turn it off.

Man I ended up uninstalling Facebook, you'll see why later. Besides even if it doesn't waste your battery you'll see "Background cached process" messing with your ram memory.
Cheers

My facebook battery use went way down when I turned of notifications. The only thing I cared about was messages anyway and the messenger app is better for that anyway.

You can disable sync

best solution is to close fb account and have a real life... or at least use it on a computer

Having a Facebook doesn't mean you don't have a real life. Many internships have required having a Facebook account.

Thanks I can see the permissions but I can't edit them, and bummer.
