Hi,

I just unlocked by bootloader, rooted and installed TWRP (these 3 via Nexus Root Toolkit by WugFresh), and downloaded the factory image of Android Kitkat 4.4 for the Nexus 4.
Now I have no idea how to flash the factory image to the phone. Do I place the folder "occamkrt16o" somewhere in the internal storage, and what should be exactly IN that folder?
According to a thread on XDA ([HOW-TO] How to flash a factory image / return to stock / unlock / root # - xda-developers) I should only keep the 6 .img files in that folder, but what are those other files, and why shouldn't I need them/what do they do that I don't need?

Can someone please tell me which folder I should put where, what should be in that folder (extracted/not extracted) and I think I can figure out the rest in TWRP.

Sorry for the n00b questions, I've never done these sort of things ever in my life before.

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Extract the .tgz download, and inside that folder will be a .tar file. Extract that, and copy the folder containing the files in "C:\Program Files (x86)\WugFresh Development\data\Factory_Images\".

Thanks for your quick reply!

So I have to have all files together in one folder, and none left out?

Update: I just took the .tgz file and placed it in /data/Factory_Images. Then I ran the 'Flash Stock + Unroot' in NRT. Everything seemed to be going wel, however in CMD it said that 2 files were missing. I don't remember which files they were, but their extension was something with a b.
Then CMD said something like 'press a key to exit', and I did. NRT did not pop up to confirm that the flash had been succesful (should it??). I hit 'Start' on my phone and it booted up. But then when I look at my phone's info it still says 4.3.

Obviously I've missed a step or something, but what is that step?

And I got it working now.
Appearantly 4.4's smallbandversion (or what it's called in English, see 2nd screenshot beneath 'Smalbandversie') ends with .96 or so, and not .84.

I went to Options in NRT and selected Force Flash under Flash Stock. This time, the factory image was flashed just fine, and I'm enjoying some delicious KitKat already :)

Apparently force flashing skips the radio flashing process. New radio version ends with .97.

I don't think it has skipped the radio process. Appearantly Google has messed up the file names for the baseband version bootloader-mako-makoz20i.img contains MAKOZ30d and radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1700.84.img contains M9615A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.1700.97.

Seeing .84 is normal on my device, right?

How were you able to get the transparent bars? It seems like the stock 4.4 for the nexus 4 does not get that.

Hi,

I'm using Nova Launcher beta, there are a few little transitions and effects I don't really like (e.g. when locking/unlocking the phone), but it's okay.
