Factory Reastore and Odin Mode?

Hi everyone,

I bought my Samsung Galaxy S III less than a year ago, lately I've been noticing that it's pretty slow and sometimes the top bar glitches, it's like super weird... Anyways, I googled "how to reset Galaxy S III" and - I think I found a thread on this forum - it said to go to Menu > Settings > Privacy > Factory Data Reset > Reset Phone, which I did. Once I tried to turn it on, it got stuck on the T-Mobile logo and it kept loading. I went to Best Buy and they told me that either the software that opens the files that run the phone doesn't work, or the files got deleted in the process. The lady did the Home Button + Volume Up + Power Button thing, but it didn't work. It gave a bunch of errors.

Now I'm home, trying to make this stupid phone work so I thought I would try to put it in Odin Mode, which is the Download mode (Home Button + Volume Down + Power Button), but I don't now how long should it take so I'm guessing it's stuck on that? Though it says "Downloading... Do not turn off target !!".

Help me please! What else can I do?

You did successfully boot into Download (aka Odin) mode - that's what it looks like. It'll sit there until:
- the battery dies
- you manually load firmware
- you pull the battery
- you long-press the Power button (about ten seconds) and it reboots

You should try booting into Recovery mode and see if any errors are shown - if there are, please list them all exactly as shown. If no errors are shown try clearing the system cache.

It may be necessary for you to reload the stock firmware using a program called Odin - let us know the model number/carrier/region/firmware version so we can steer you to the correct firmware.
