Factory Reset and Rooted Gingerbread

My daughters' rooted Droid X with Gingerbread is messed up. If she does a factory reset, will she loose her root and gingerbread? And how do you do a factory reset on the Droid X? Thanks.

What exactly is the problem? Maybe it isn't that severe that you need to do a wipe.

She says its continually crashing. She's deleted most of the apps she's installed. Still crashing. She seems to think it has something to do with swype.

Crashing. As in you open an app and it just force closes? Also, what version is she on? Make sure she keeps the important apps,lol

If Swype is an issue, have her long press the text entry box and change the input method to the keyboard and see if that helps.

OK She says when she disables swype, her droid starts crashing...

Hmmm, which GB version is she running? If she's rooted , it must be one of the few leaks we've had for the past couple months. And how old is the device?

Anyone else wana jump in on this. Sounds like a case for the community
