I picked up this tablet last night and right out of the box I was having problems with the touch screen being non responsive. I figured ok maybe I just need to charge it. Still non responsive. Hit the soft reset a few times. Finally was responding and got past the lock screen and was working great for a while. I put it down for a little bit and when I came back to it, non responsive again for basically the rest of the night. Soft reset it a 100 times, nothing.
I think I did a factory reset by holding the volume - and power button at the same time. It went into a service fix mode or something.
The touch screen work for about two minutes after and everything still looked like it was when I set stuff up. I thought factory reset makes it like it was from the factory, am I wrong or did I not do it right? I'm trying to wipe my personal data so I can exchange it.

I found my answer in the user manual on Acer's web sight.

Clean boot
A clean boot will restore your tablet to the factory settings.
Warning! This will erase all your personal information, any contacts stored
on your tablet and any programs you installed.
Open Settings from the application menu, then tap Privacy > Factory data reset; click Reset tablet and then Erase everything to format your tablet.

I hope the touch screen works long enough to do this.

Ok, a USB keyboard/mouse combo let me navigate to reset it since the touch screen will not work. Back to the store to exchange it. What a bummer, didn't even get to enjoy it.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. At least you can get a new one and chances are it will be a better experience..

Exchanged it for another one Friday. New one has been working great all weekend. I guess I got a dud right out of the box the first time.
