Factory reset S7 and now I'm locked out

Hi,

My sister had adware on her phone so I factory reset it. When restarting, it asked for her gmail and password but she had forgot her password so I had to change her password. Now, when putting the right gmail and password in, it says that for an unknown reason it doesn't work and to wait 24hrs and try again.

I just want to check whether what I've read online is true; that the reason it isn't allowing me to log in with her gmail is because it has a 24hr or 72hr security time when a phone's gmail password is changed after it's been factory reset.

Cheers for any help,

Dan

Welcome to Android Central! Yes, if a Google password is changed, then logging into a phone with that account needs to wait for 24 hrs.

Always remember to properly remove a Google account from the phone before doing a factory reset (when possible). This avoids the whole issue with Factory Reset Protection.
