Factory Reset

I apologize if this has been answered somewhere but I've been looking for over an hour and I don't see the information I'm needing. I started having issues with my contact ringtones after I rooted my phone. The last caller's ringtone plays with every call. The VZW tech I spoke to (I didn't disclose the fact that I had a rooted phone) told me that sometimes when you don't eject the SD card from the computer after using it some files on the card will not work properly. He suggested that I hook my phone back up to the computer and then eject it, that didn't work. He then suggested that I do a factory reset. From reading the forums I understand that I can do a factory reset on a rooted phone. My question is should I erase the sd card as well? I still have the zip files from the custom rom on the card, thanks.

Just copy everything off the card onto the computer. Then format the card and put everything back. Hope it fixes it!
