Factory reset

I've been having so much trouble with my S5 since updating to lollipop (on Verizon). I already tried wiping the cache and deleting unnecessary apps, etc but nothing seems to have worked. In fact, my phone seems to be getting slower and more buggy if anything. So I think it's time to try a factory reset. I'm just not sure how to go about this.

Is there a way to save all of my apps and stuff? I know my photos are already auto-saved onto Google but what about everything else?

Also, can somehow help guide me through the reset in general?

Much appreciated and thanks!

you can back up most of your data and contacts useing samsung kies downloaded to your laptop.
to perform the factory data reset power your phone off, then hold down the power button volume up and home button at the same time until you boot into recovery. then use the volume rocker to select wipe data/factory reset and hit the power button to make it happen. give it a little while then use the volume rocker to select reboot system and hit the power button. now your phone should be back just like it came fresh from Verizon.
It should run a lot better :)

edit to add you can also go into settings backup and reset and just click factory data reset, there are apps on the Play Store that will backup your apps with the use of a laptop.
Just remember to back up,because once it's gone it's gone
