Factory Screen Protector

Has anyone removed the factory installed screen protector on their P20 Pro?

One one hand I want to keep it as I can see it has already protected my screen from the dents on it; on the other hand its an absolute magnet for finger smudges and doesn't clean well.

The phone has Gorilla Glass 5 so it should protect it from daily knocks and scratches.

I removed mine but you better get a tempered glass for it. I don't know what country your in but warranty in the US is gonna be all but impossible if you break it. I got a good two pack of tempered glass from Amazon for $8 that I'm super happy with. I hated that factory one too.

Took it away and don't regret it. Yesterday ordered a tempered glass screen protector from AliExpress for 3,50€

I've kept mine on as I don't want a scratched screen. I cleaned the screen the other day coz I got caught in the rain a bit & it came up good enough for me.

I thought Hauwei fitted that screeny because the glass itself has no oleophobic coating on it..

It does have oleophobic coating but I don't think its gorilla glass 5

It has coating on both sides, all Huawei phones come with screen protectors preinstalled.

So, I recieved tempered glass screen protector and removed the pre installed one. But around home button I'm noticing something that looks like (another) actual screen protector. So, I'm wondering if the thing I removed is actually just a plain sticker? I might feel stupid if the answer is yes I have p20

Do you see anything at the top and edges? The phone does have a sticker on the front however it has a tab that sticks out so it should be pretty obvious, the screen protector will be noticeable at the top and maybe edges too.

Yeah, I pulled that thing down and protector came off. But since I'm noticing something around home button, that's not tempered glass I'm wondering if there is another layer of something. I'm basically asking do you remove everything there is to remove when you pull that thingy.

The phone comes with a sticker and a preinstalled screen protector underneath so two things to remove, just removing the sticker won't pull off the screen protector, if you've removed both then maybe it's just the outline of the FPS.

I pulled the sticky layer and that's it. So I'm guessing now I have two screen protectors, lol. Thanks

Hi , just like marina - concerned if it has screen protector already fitted . I have pealed off the sticky cellophane to the screen . After several days have noticed marks on the screen. Does it definately have a screen protector as well . Noticed that around the home button and camera on the front of the screen that they seem to be recessed with like a plastic surround . is this the screen protector. . Didn't want to try getting it off if it was part of the screen. Thanks in advance

Removed mine from P20 and I have no regrets. If anything, it's much better feeling slide fingers on glass then on plastic.

Yes that is a factory screen protector they install. After mine got a bunch of scratches I ordered a tempered glass on Amazon. I just peeled that one off and installed the tempered glass no problem.

Its not gorrilla glass... its tempered glass and very flimsy...
