My Thunderbolt was displaying this screen when I arrived at my office. The device was on and connected to its charger.

I did a reboot. I have done several reboots, since. After each reboot it returns to this same screen.

Please HELP!

Reboot system now
Apply sdcard:update.zip
Wipe data/Factory reset
Wipe cash partition
Install zip from sdcard
Backup and restore
Mounts and storage
Advanced
******go back*****

Revolutionary CHM v4.0.1.4
Finding update package ?.
Opening update package?.
Verifying update package?
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted

It appears to me that these messages are not the result of a factory OTA or update. Have you placed a ".zip" file on your SDCard yourself? Or, is this a failure to root message? It says "Revolutionary CHM v4.0.1.4".

Looks like you are trying to run the UPDATE on a ROOTED phone. There might be something funky going on.

Try UNROOTING your phone and then run it!

Power off your device and go to recovery and wipe cache. That will remove the update but it'll do it again unless you do something about it.

You can either stay on your current rom or update to 2.11.605.9. Look for the rooted, deodexed rom on rootzwiki. If you choose to stay on your current rom, get an app like Root Explorer and go to Etc, then Security and rename Otacerts.zip to Otacerts.bak. The phone will still try to download the update but it will fail because that file has been renamed.

Good luck!

Swing by the root section, there is the rooted version of 2.11.605.9.

I am having the exact same problem, verizon did an auto-update, and it failed due to Revolutionary root as far as I can tell.
