Q: I’m new to Android. Where do I begin?
A: The forums are full of helpful members (we were all new at one time). There are no stupid questions. All we ask is that you do a quick search to see if your question has already been answered, and also check out the General Help & How-To stickies to get you started. If you're having trouble finding an answer or solution, please feel free to start a thread (see note about PM'ing mods below).
Q: I’m not a fan of Touchwiz. Can you recommend a home screen replacement?
A: There are many to choose from. A favorite in the forums is LauncherPro Plus (Okay – I admit it's my personal favorite), but there are many other recommendations as well. Check out the Member Favorites Forum, for member opinions on this and other application favorites. If you do decided to use a 3rd party launcher, it’s a good idea to remove all TouchWiz widgets, from the TW homescreen before doing so. This will help alleviate any slow downs or additional battery drain.
Q. How do I replace Bing with Google?
A: This will require a few minor tweaks. Please check out this thread for more information.
Q. GPS doesn’t work half the time – if at all. What can I do about this?
A: There is a known issue with GPS locks on the entire Galaxy S line. Samsung has acknowledged this issue and has promised a future update. Some members have suggested 3rd party apps, such as GPS Test & GPS Status have alleviated extended GPS lock times. However, results vary and seem inconsistent.
Q: I have a task manager on my Fascinate, yet I still experience lag and poor battery life. Is there anything else I can to alleviate these issues?
A: We strongly recommend that you not use task managers. Use of a task killer could actually be slowing your system down more. There are reports that brick and mortar sales reps are installing task managers before customers leave the store. My recommendation is to remove the task manager software and possibly a hard reset as soon as you leave the store.

A: Rumors currently speak to a November release. However, the only source that truly knows is Samsung and/or Verizon. Bookmark and visit the Android Central Blog, as often as possible, to stay up to date on this and other Android news.
Q: Is it okay to PM a mod or Admin for personal assistance?
A: While we value each and every one of our members, and understand the urgency that some feel in getting their questions answered, we respectfully ask that you post all questions in the forum. By doing so you are 1) Benefiting other members that may have a similar answer 2) Tapping into a much wider and sometimes more knowledgeable community 3) Allowing the mods to focus on their primary duties. Questions submitted to either admins or mods will not be answered, unless they are related to a moderator functions or forum related issues.
