Fascinate Odd Email Behaviour

I have a new Samsung Fascinate while the wife has a DroidX. We share two email accounts. I set up her emails (she has six accounts total) and all behave relatively well. We share our two shared accounts with a POP3 PC client. On our ISP, we never remove the mail from the server and all the SSL and TLS works like a charm.

But.... On my Fascinate (less than 24 hours old), I have my "check for new mail every 10 minutes" and have set up access identically as the Droid X.

1) Mail for these two accounts is never pulled "every 10 minutes." The mail is only delivered (sometimes -- see 2) below) when I open the Inbox folder for that account. So, it never shows in the Combined Inbox nor does it arrive and give me a new mail notification, count, or anything of the sort.

2) Once I receive the mail (if it happens to come by my forcing it), once I open the mail and go back to my accounts, the email "disappears." These POP accounts don't generate a TRASH folder either.

My ISP behaviour is set up to leave all mail on the server, never mark mail as read, and all POP3 accounts are set up the same way (leave mail, don't mark read, etc.). Again, the Droid X works as well as can be expected even with the contention between the always on POP3 Office Outlook 2007 client.

What did SAMSUNG do to their Email app client??

Thanks Cory. Loaded MailDroid down to see how it handles one pop3 and one yahoo account...

Yup... So I tried MailDroid with no luck and then K9... better performance. We'll see where this leads. Thanks again for participating. Look for further newbie posts from me...
