Fascinate or droid incredible

I am having trouble deciding on the fascinate or the incredible. I love the screen and the whole look of the fascinate, but I like the dinc also. I just bought my girlfriend a dinc and played with it for a while and must say very nice. I havent played with the fascinate at all but just love the way it looks. The only thing about the fascinate I dont care for is bing. Email, browsing, txting, and personalizing the phone is very important and the biggest things for me. Please someone help me out!!! One more thing I know the fascinate only has 2.1 but if and maybe when it gets 2.2 with google be on there instead of bing?

Both of the phones are similar. I chose the Fascinate simply because of the slightly larger screen. When (if?) it finally gets 2.2, Google will be an option, but I think Bing will still be the standard search engine used by the phone. Hope those are helpful. I personally love my Fascinate. It has a few things I wish I could change (and I could change, if I decide to root), but I think the Inc would have had some of the same things, such as bloatware. Look through the spec comparisons though, along with the side by side video. It also might help to use both at the vzw store.. or find someone that has a Fascinate and play with it a bit.

Hey for the GPS I noticed on my fascinate that the GPS takes a little longer to start up then on other android phones I've had but it does connect and works well. As for navigation I just downloaded Google maps and use Google navigation on that. So no differince on that. I just made Google my homepage and put the browser on my screen instead of a widget. So all the missing Google stuff I actually have in one way or the other

My GPS works faster than my Droid X GPS.
i chose the DX over the Dinc and in the end the Fascinate over the DX.
Fascinate has great screen real estate and is a smooth phone. But to be honest the Dinc is a great phone....but if i had to choose again after playing with both and knowing what i know now. i would def get another Fascinate, 2.2 or not its still really great phone.

I've had both and currently have the Fascinate.

Software: I prefer the Dinc. It never slowed down on me. The Fascinate often does, it sometimes pauses as long as 30 seconds. I often have to use the built in task manager to close programs. I didn't have to with the Dinc. The GPS sometimes takes a long time to lock in with the Fascinate. With the Dinc, it locked in quickly.

Hardware: This where the Fascinate shines IMO. It's the reason I purchased it. It has gorilla glass, bigger screen, and better resolution. I think it's the perfect size phone. The battery life is much better with the Fascinate. I can often make it two full days with moderate use. The Dinc had trouble making it through a work day.

I would go with the Fascinate but both are great phones. My guess is the software issues will be taken care of with future updates. Soon, I hope!

Due to lack of support from Samsung or VZW as far as Froyo or a real GPS fix, I would run far and fast from the Fascinate. My wife loves hers and I hate mine. I'm de-Binged, de-bloated and rooted, all of which helped make it a better phone, just not good enough. After the cool factor of the screen wears off(which was on about day 35 for me), it's not that great a phone for me.
Correct me if I'm wrong SCXR, but they both have the same screen resolution: 480x800. All the reviews say the Dinc "only" has a 3.7" screen and the Fascinate has a "huge" 4" screen. Since when does .3" larger constitute huge? Guess that makes a DX "disproportionately massive"?
Touchwiz sucks, to use the phone you almost have to DL LauncherPro, not so with the Sense UI. It constantly lags coming out of lock, I believe BW causes this, I have to do daily battery pulls and it gets frustrating. I guess I will just flash a different ROM and see if it makes me any happier. At this point probably not. Just Google, get past the SAMOLED screen fanboys and compare pluses and minuses, the Fascinate loses for me.

I think what bmidd is demonstrating is that some people are going to love it, some people are going to hate it. Which is pretty much why I said you should try out both before buying. I used my friend's Inc a few times and it was awesome. But I also don't have issues with my Fascinate.

I've had both and i much prefer my fascinate. Sense is very nice, but the hardware and battery life of the fascinate win out.

My wife has the dinc and I have the fascinate. She, being the typical wife, requires me to constantly troubleshoot her phone, so i've played with the dinc extensively. I personally prefer the fascinate to the dinc. Battery life is actually much better on my fascinate than on my wife's dinc, and that .3 inch in screen size makes a massive difference on user enjoyment from my experience. I have not rooted the dinc while my fascinate is rooted with stupidfast kernal loaded, so battery/lag/experience may differ if the dinc is rooted.

I think you must have a bad phone. I haven't downloaded launcher pro and I don't have any problems, I'm using BW and no unlock lag, when comparing to my friends dinc the screen is brighter and larger. When typing it's much easier on my fascinate. So the. 3 screen helps me tons. I haven't de-binged or gotten all that crap off it and still lag is nearly non existence. However from time to time it does lag but nothing major.

4in screen fits great in my hands were 4.3 is to large and 3.7 is a little cramped for my liking.

I know many Dinc users and I think they're all in denial. They all say their phone is the greatest thing since sliced bread until I start comparing theirs with my Fascinate. Like "does this picture look as good on yours?" or "how's your battery life?" I really don't understand the appeal of them over mine other than having 2.2, and I've never had a moment with mine where I thought "I needed froyo to do this." Whenever we do get 2.2 for the Fascinate, great... But I still can't see that as a deal breaker.
