Hey guys! Side question about ROMs for the Fascinate-

I use the Captivate but a work buddy has the Fascinate. I was curious why the i9000 ports of 2.2 are not coming over to the Fascinate like they are for the other models? Is it because Verizon is different, or are the devs for Fascinate waiting for specific sources, is it a modem issue, or are they just putting their efforts into CM?

My buddy is running one of the customs for his Fascinate, but we are trying to understand the differences a little better and why he couldn't just flash the re-oriented CM for example.

Just trying to understand :).

Thanks!

Think it's just more of a gsm v cdma thing. Verizon likes to be difficult. But there should be a 2.2 for this in like feb., lol

Because the phones are different models.. The hardware is different.. different board revisions, different GPS chip, different BT chip, there's no FM radio, different internal storage configurations, etc.

That's just the HW. Then the carriers have to have their go at it, testing their specific apps, on their network, etc.
